The National Network of Oral Health Access (NNOHA) is accepting applications for the first-ever NNOHA Advocacy Collaborative! Spanning 10 months, the Advocacy Collaborative is a program for oral health leaders to provide them with the knowledge and hands-on training required to advance systems-level oral health reform in their respective states.

    Goals and Aims

Specifically, the Collaborative aims to provide participants with expert-led, hands-on training and mentorship to help them:

    • Understand how policy advocacy works at both the state and federal levels, specific to oral health transformation
    • Build adaptive leadership skills to position themselves as key influencers in oral health policy advocacy
    • Identify opportunities to drive oral health systems change through various forms of policy development including legislative, regulatory, and/or payment reforms, as well as through executive action
    • Develop a comprehensive advocacy plan to pursue a specific oral health reform in their respective state or at the national level
    • Improve access and increase equity in the oral health care system through policy advocacy

    Outputs

Over the course of an immersive 10-month program, incorporating both virtual and in-person learning engagement opportunities, NNOHA Advocacy Collaborative participants will develop:

    • A comprehensive advocacy plan, inclusive of a landscape analysis, power-mapping framework, partnership development, and communications strategies, including message and audience mapping and design
    • A blueprint for the development of the first-ever NNOHA Policy Advocacy Toolkit, designed to guide and support NNOHA members' pursuit of policy reforms across the United States

    Cost
To ensure equitable access to this learning collaborative, NNOHA has graciously donated their staff time in-kind, as well as covered facility rental and associated coaching fees at no cost to the participant. Travel and accommodation costs for two (2) two-day, in-person meetings will be the responsibility of each participant.
