Flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the throat, nose and lungs. Younger children, older people and others with certain health conditions are at a higher risk of serious flu complications. Next week (December 4-December 8) is national INFLUENZA VACCINATION week. This week serves as a reminder to everyone 6 months and older that there's still time to get vaccinated against the flu.
